Body of 5-year-old Hussnain, who had gone missing during a wedding ceremony held in Lahore’s Islampura area, was recovered nine days later from the gutter of the hotel where the event took place.
Hussnain went missing during the Nikkah ceremony of his aunt which was being held in the hotel. Efforts were made by his family members in order to find out the missing boy by retrieving the Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) camera footage of the hotel but no evidence of the boy leaving the hotel was found.
Hussnain’s father filed a report in the police station. On Sunday, the hotel management reported to the police about finding the dead body of a child from the gutter located in the hotel’s parking.
The hotel administration had covered the manhole with a wooden board. The police detained four staff members of the hotel after carrying out interrogation.
Police officials state that further information regarding the child’s death will be received after the postmortem report.
The hotel was sealed by police whereas the dead body of the child will be handed over to his parents after completion of the postmortem.
