Afghan refugees found to be occupying key govt posts

Intelligence agencies have busted an alleged Afghan refugee serving as a doctor in Allied Hospital while investigations are underway to identify other impostors appointed at government posts.

Reportedly, refugees hailing from Afghanistan acquired fake identity cards from different centres in Dera Ismail Khan, and also got family numbers from National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA).

According to the report, the doctor studied at Punjab Medical College and landed a job in Allied Hospital using fake identity details. He married a lady doctor of Afghan descent.

Faisalabad Capital Police officer has been directed by high-ups to launch an enquiry in the issue.

According to statistics of United Nations body, over 1500000 Afghan refugees are residing in Pakistan who have not only built permanent residences but have also strengthened their sources of livelihood.

Thousands of Afghans cross border and enter Pakistan through Torkham everyday which resulted in several terror attacks in Pakistan.

Last week, Pakistan Army had to confront Afghanistan’s unjustified aggression at Torkham when it started constructing gate some 37 metres within its territory to keep a check on the movement.
