24 outlaws held, arms, ammunition recovered in Karachi

The police arrested 24 criminals, including Afghan nationals and recovered arms and ammunition during separate actions on Monday.

The police on a tip-off raided an under construction house in Mehmoodabad locality of the metropolis during which four ball bombs, two repeaters, one Awan bomb and hundreds of bullets buried underground were recovered. Four people present at the scene were also arrested.

Separately, the police during routine patrolling near Johar Chourangi arrested two injured culprits after exchange of fire while they were looting the citizens at gunpoint. The injured robbers, identified as Shafique Channa and Rafaqat Malik, were shifted to the hospital for treatment.

A wanted criminal Akhtar Kohistani was arrested in injured condition while his cohort Azam Kohistani managed to escape after an exchange of fire with the police at Sharah-e-Noor Jehan near Kohistani Chowk.

Six suspects and two criminals were detained by the police from Model Town area.

The police arrested three drug peddlers during a crackdown in Pirabad locality of the city and recovered huge quantity of drugs from their possession.

The police also arrested six illegal Afghan immigrants from Gulshan-e-Mehmar area.
