The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has declared 12 jets of a private airliner parked at Karachi airport a security risk.
According to CAA spokesperson, the jets are standing stationary at the Karachi airport for a long time and they could result in a ‘tragedy’.
The CAA asked the private airliner to conduct an examination of its jets and remove them from the airport premises within 15 days.
The spokesperson said the letter in this regard was also issued to customs officials, informing them about the planes. However, sources in the CAA said the Pakistan Customs and the private airliner were facing a dispute over tax payment.
The letter to the airline said CAA would not compromise on the safety of passengers.
