The federal government has planned to present an ‘Eid-ul-Fitar’ gift to the masses in the form of enhanced petroleum prices from July 1m 2016.
Well placed sources revealed on Sunday that the prices of petroleum products are likely to be increased by Rs 4.5 per litre from the next month.
In accordance with the proposal, petrol is likely to witness an increase of Rs 2.60 per litre, kerosene oil Rs 3.5 per litre, light diesel by Rs 1.8 per litre, high speed diesel by Rs 3.2 per litre and high octane by Rs 4.5 per litre.
However, the final decision in this regard would be announced after the approval from Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
