Int’l cricket ground to be constructed at Rawal Road

Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif is taking keen interest for the promotion of sports and International standard cricket play ground, Jim Khana, swimming pool and hockey stadium would be constructed at Rawal Road Rawalpindi at a cost of Rs 20 crore said Metro Project Chairman Hanif Abbasi.
He was addressing the Ist Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif Rawalpindi Inter UC’s Flood light tournament held at Govt Post graduate college for Boys 6th Road on Friday.
Hanif Abbasi said sports are essential for the physical and mental health of the youth and no one can deny its importance. Pakistan Muslim League-N government is spending billions of rupees in education and health sectors and a number of mega projects have been completed within a short time.
He said Rawalpindi Institute of Cardiology (RIC) has been completed which is capable of carrying out all kinds of surgeries and catering to the needs of the poor.
He said that Urology state-of-the-art hospital would be completed by June next year.
A total 19 teams are participating the tournament while UC 23 team won the toss and started batting.
Among others, MPA Raja Hanif advocate, PML-N President City chapter Sardar Nasim, General Secretary Muslim Student Federation Punjab Maqbool Ahmed Khan, Arslan Hafeez, Tournament Coordinator Snobar Gull and a large number of athletes were present on the occasion.
