India Embassy, BCCI active to hide rape by Indian cricketer in Zimbabwe

India Embassy in Zimbabwe and officials of Board of Cricket Control in India (BCCI) have become active to hide rape to hide rape by Indian cricketer in Harare, reports said.

According to reports, Indian ambassador is making all out efforts to hush up the matter. On the other hand, Indian board officials are making untiring efforts to hush up the matter.

The Indian team is currently touring Zimbabwe to play 3 ODIs and 3 T20Is in a low-profile series. Assistant Commissioner of Police, Charity Charamba confirmed the incident.

“There are allegations of rape against an Indian national by a Zimbabwe woman,” she said. “As Police are bound by the law when such serious matters arise and we investigate. We have investigated and forwarded the case to the courts for determination and we wait for the outcome. He appeared in the court today.”

The Meikel’s hotel in Harare where the players are residing is thoroughly scrutinized by the police and officials from country’s intelligence amid speculations of an Indian cricketer involved in the incident. However, the identity of the player is undisclosed as of now.

“It is a tricky situation because it could turn into a diplomatic feud between the two countries. People need to tread carefully because the Indian ambassador was seen at the hotel trying to stop the player’s arrest or maybe broker an out-of-court settlement with the woman,” said a close source to the developments.
