After joining of powerful local politicians of Awami Ittehad and Jam Group, the Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) has come in a stronger position to give a tough time to the PPP in coming local government chairmen elections.
According to details, leaders of Jam Group of Malir and Awami Ittehad Jam Abdul Kareem, Jan Alam Jamote, Tariq Baloch and Nadeem Memon along with 16 district council members, 24 chairmen and vice-charimen, 35 councilors and hundreds of people belonging to Jamote, Jokhio and Memon communities announced to join the PTI in a grand meeting held at the residence of Jam Abdul Kareem at Jam Goth of Malir. PTI leaders Dr Arif Alvi and Haleem Adil Sheikh were also present.
Jam Abdul Kareem said they were ready to bring a change in Pakistan under the leadership of PTI Chairman Imran Khan. He said the people of Malir were now fed up with the rulers who had given nothing to Malir and its people. He said Malir’s roads, streets and sanitary infrastructure were in shambles and poverty and joblessness was on the rise. He said there was no healthcare and public transport facilities for the people of Malir. He said the rulers had always neglected Malir after getting votes from the innocent people of this backward area of Karachi.
However, Haleem Adil Sheikh told PPI that in the coming elections of Malir district council they would field their candidate for the chairman and Abdul Latif Rind of the PML-Q would be their candidate for vice chairman. He said PML-N leader Agha Tariq Pathan and a woman councilor had also announced to support them. He said now they were in a strong position to challenge the PPP in Malir as more leaders and communities were eager to join the PTI and talks with them were under way.
He said people were fed up with the mega corruption and bribery of the sitting regime and they wanted some honest leadership to change their destiny. He paid rich tributes to their party vice chairman Shah Mehmood Qureshi, saying his last visit to Malir paved the way for joining of these powerful communities of Malir in the PTI. He said his party would continue to strive for the rights of the downtrodden people of Pakistan, especially the people of Sindh province. He said they had already completed a successful march of the whole province and they were warmly welcomed by the people.
