Kevin Spacey awarded honorary knighthood

Kevin Spacey, the two-time Oscar-winner has been awarded an honorary knighthood by His Royal Highness Prince Charles.

The title of Knight Commander, the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire, was conferred upon the House of Cards actor for his services to the theatre, arts, and international culture at Clarence House, London.

Spacey can now officially place the letters KBE behind his name but he won’t be allowed to call himself ‘Sir Kevin’ as he is a recipient outside the Commonwealth, reports Dailymail.

The 56-year-old actor took to Facebook to share the big news as he shared a picture, oh him receiving the award from the Prince himself with the caption ‘I may play a President on TV, but in real life I’m now a Sir. Thanks, HRH–what a prince of a guy!’

On the work front, Spacey is gearing up for the release of his latest film Nine Lives. He is also set to return with Netflix series House of Cards, slated for release in February
