Islamic State Twitter accounts hacked, replaced with gay pride and porn

In the wake of the deadliest shooting in US history at a gay nightclub in Orlando, a hacker-activist group hacked into pro-Islamic State (IS) Twitter accounts and replaced them with gay pride messages and links to gay pornography.

The pro-IS accounts that were hacked were all renamed “Jacked by a Ghost” and most linked to the CIA’s official website.

The Anonymous hacker, who goes by the name of WauchulaGhost on Twitter, tweeted his successful takeover of the pro-IS account, with an IP address in Oman, and peppered the account with slogans such as “Make love, not war” using hashtags “#MoreSex #LessDeath #ISIS #ISIL #IslamicState”.

On June 12, the hacker account said that Twitter had deleted the accounts after they were hacked into and altered by Anonymous.

However, Twitter did not admit the accounts were hacked. “We condemn the use of Twitter to promote terrorism and Twitter rules make it clear that this type of behaviour, or any violent threat, is not permitted on our service,” a spokesperson for Twitter said.

According to CBS San Francisco, some of the hacked accounts were suspended, while others still exist.

The Anonymous hacker has been hacking pro-IS accounts for the past two months and posting pornographic images on their twitter accounts.
