An anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Islamabad on Thursday extended judicial remand of three accused in the Imran Farooq murder case for 14 days.

The court also directed the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) to appoint a prosecutor to pursue the case.

When ATC Judge Syed Kausar Abbas Zaidi took up the case, no prosecutor appeared on behalf of the FIA. The judge inquired from legal deputy director Wasim Ranjha as to why the prosecutor was not being appointed.

The judge remarked that a verdict will be announced at the next hearing after seeing the record in case no prosecutor was appointed until then.

The court while giving 30 days to FIA to appoint prosecutor adjourned the hearing. The court also extended judicial remand of accused, Khalid Shamim, Moazzam Ali and Mohsin Ali for 14 days.
