Udta Punjab has been in the limelight for all the unfortunate reasons even before its release. In a recent turn of events, Anurag Kashyap’s film Udta Punjab was leaked online days before its official release, 17th June.
The producer took to Facebook, pleading cinema-goers to refrain from downloading his film online before it hit cinemas and instead wait for the film’s release.
Kashyap tried his best to bring to light the situation at hand and wrote, “This time it’s a different fight, it’s a fight against censorship and if you are that audience that always downloads a film, then I won’t ask you to not do that , please do, but wait till Saturday which is the day you would normally download a film.”
“So all downloaders of Udta Punjab, I urge, wait till Saturday till you decide to not pay for the film, don’t download and share, curb the curiosity for two more days,” he concluded.
Shahid and Alia also took to Twitter urging his fans to watch their film in cinemas.
The stars tweeted:
Blood and sweat of many in this film. It’s been your battle as much as ours. Now is the time you can show it. Watch UdtaPunjab in theatres
