The mother of former federal minister, Dr Asim Hussain, on Friday filed a petition seeking the protection of his son.
In her petition, she stated that her son’s life was danger. She pleaded to the court that the institutions should be barred from releasing the confessional statements of her son. She appealed to the court to safeguard her and her son’s life and basic rights.
Earlier, another confessional video tape of Dr Asim Hussain was leaked in which he made startling disclosures regarding financial affairs of former president Asif Ali Zardari. In the leaked video, Dr Asim Hussain revealed the names of Pakistan People Party Co-chairman Asif Zardari’s close aides who maintained his financial affairs. Previously, Hussain had leveled serious allegations against foster brother of Asif Zardari, Owais Muzaffar Tappi, regarding his influence in the PPP government and the alleged massive corruption he committed.
The former federal minister is facing charges of corruption amounting to billion of rupees in the court and has also been implicated for facilitating treatment of terrorists and target killers in hospitals that he owned.
