At least 30 more dengue viral fever cases have been detected in Sindh province in a week, out of which 29 were reported from Karachi, taking the patients toll to 722 since January 2016.
As per weekly report issued by Dengue Prevention and Control Programme (DPCP), Sindh, to PPI, 30 new dengue fever cases surfaced in Sindh province from June 10 to 16, 2016, out of which 29 were reported from Karachi and one from Khairpur.
A total 29 new dengue fever cases were detected in Karachi last week, out of which five were reported from District Central, 10 from District South, two from District West, eight from District East and four from District Malir.
In 2016, a total 722 dengue fever cases were reported in Sindh province since January 2016, out of which 668 were detected from Karachi, 12 from Hyderabad, five from Sukkur, four from Tando Muhammad Khan, three each from Dadu, Mirpurkhas, Tharparkar, Khairpur and Larkana, two each from Badin, Thatta, Jamshoro, Umer Kot, Sanghar Naushero Feroz, Ghotki, Shaheed Benazirbad and Shikarpur. One death from dengue was reported from Nawabshah.
