CPPA recommends cutting electricity by Rs3.27 per unit for May

The Central Power Purchasing Authority (CPPA) has recommended a compensation for the general public by reducing the price of electricity for May.

The authority has recommended cutting price by Rs 3.27 per unit.

The National Electric Power Supply Company said that production cost of electricity has decreased after a record reduction in the price of furnace oil. The company said that 9.7811 billion units of electricity were sold in May with a production cost/unit of Rs 3.49.

Fuel worth Rs 34.23 billion was utilised for power production in May.
