Inconsistent Afridi fails to performs even in county cricket

Proving to be consistently inconsistent, former Twenty20 skipper Shahid Afridi was unable to perform dazzlingly in ongoing County Cricket Tournament in England.

Afridi represented Hampshire team in Royal Cup in first one-day international but the player showed dismal performance as he was unable to get any wicket in his 10 overs quota.

Recently, Afridi claimed to execute outstandingly in county cricket to regain the confidence of Pakistani selectors.

In an exclusive interview with cricket.com.au, Afridi said that he is focusing on cricket and wants to continue it. He said he is looking after himself very well and working hard to maintain his physical fitness.

“I still feel that I can play for the next couple of years whether it is for Pakistan or PSL (Pakistan Super League), Big Bash or England (domestic) T20s.”

Afridi happy to lead

“In fact before coming (to this interview) I spoke with the chief selector Inzamam-ul-Haq and told him that it is good to have youngsters in the team but in case he needs me I will be available.

I’ll be available for the national team whenever it needs me,” Afridi said in England.
