No participation in sit-in, PTI excuses PAT

The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) decided not to attend the Pakistan Awami Tehreek’s (PAT) sit-in to be staged in Lahore from June 17 in connection with the Model Town incident.

One faction of PTI suggested staying away from PAT’s sit-in in the prevailing situation while others said that cooperation with PAT is must for the success of PTI’s anti-government movement to be launched after Eid. They were of the opinion that both the parties could mount pressure on the government with their street power.

Sources said that PTI chief Imran Khan will not participate in the sit-in after taking the situation into consideration. However, Chaudhry Sarwar and some other leaders of PTI will take part in the sit-in to express solidarity with PAT but PTI as a party will not participate.
