The Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq Tuesday (today) said that media, both print and electronic, should not report the expunged words in their news items.
On a point of order by Aftab Ahmed Khan Sherpao, the speakers said that our position in this matter was clear that media has the responsibility not to reproduce what has been expunged from the proceedings of the house, the speaker remarked.
The speaker said that whenever the words are expunged, the media is communicated and media itself has the responsibility to refrain from reporting such material. He expressed the hope that the media would play its positive role.
In his point of order, Sherpao had inquired whether the media,print or electronic could reproduce the words that have been expunged from the proceedings.
Related to this Dr Shireen Mazari asked whether it was not the responsibility of the ministers also not to use the expunged words on social media.
The speaker Ayaz Sadiq said that this should not be done.
