As many as eight people drowned in Indus River when a bus carrying passengers to Rawalpindi fell into the river in Patan area.
The police said that the passenger coaster was coming from Kohistan to Rawalpindi as it plunged into the river due to speeding. As a result, eight people swept away in the river waves and drowned.
The dead bodies of five people were recovered with the help of locals while other three victims were being searched.
The bodies of the deceased were shifted to a nearby hospital for medico-legal formalities, police said.
