People belonging to various villages in Peshawar took to streets on Monday to protest against the prolonged load shedding in outskirts of Khazana area.

Power cuts continue in Khazana and surrounding villages during the holy month of Ramzan.

The loads hedding has forced the residents to come out of their homes and stage protest against the outage.

The protesters blocked the Charsadda road for traffic which resulted in long queues of vehicles.

The people also chanted loud slogans against Peshawar Electric Supply Company (PESCO) and sieged the Khazana police station. A heavy contingent of police reached the scene to control the situation.

SP Rural Shakirullah Bangash negotiated with the protesters and the traffic on Charsadda Road was restored after seven hours.
