5 terrorists killed in Quetta shootout

Five suspected terrorists were killed Tuesday (today) in an encounter with police in Quetta’s Chashma Achozai area.

Police on a tip-off conducted a raid on a compound of terrorists near Airport Road in Quetta upon which the terrorists opened fire at a patrolling police van. Police personnel retaliated and five suspected militants were killed during the exchange of fire.

Personnel of other security agencies also reached the site to assist policemen battling against the militants, belonging to a banned militant outfit.

Fifteen kilogrammes of explosives, bombs, seven hand grenades, three Kalashnikovs and two pistols were seized from the terrorist hideout.

According to the reports, the killed militants were involved in acts of targeted killings and kidnappings in the area.

The bodies of the slain terrorists were shifted to Civil Hospitals Quetta. The slain terrorists were said to be affiliated with an outlawed group.

Balochistan Chief Minister  Nawab Sanaullah Khan Zehri and Balochistan Home Minister Sarfraz Bugti have congratulated security forces and police for carrying out the successful operation against terrorists.
