Two children killed, five injured over tribal enmity

Unidentified men attacked a house near Nawabshah on Monday, killing two children and injuring five other people.

According to details, eight unidentified men attacked the house of Ali Ghulam Bugti, a martyred soldier of the Pakistan Army, at Goth Mirza Farrakh Baig near Nawabshah. The attack left two children, identified as two and a half-year-old Zakir Bugti and eight-year-old Shahila, dead.

Five family members were injured in the attacked. The injured were identified as five-year-old Aamir, 11-year-old Gulam Mujhtaba, 30-year-old Meer Zadi (widow of Ali Gulam), 28-year-old Fahmida and 14-year-old Noor Bano (nieces of Ali Gulam).

Police sources said that the attack was the result of an old tribal enmity.

Jam Sahab Police logged a first information report against the accused and raided their house but they had already left.

The eyewitness on the condition of anonymity said that the attackers came on motorbikes. They were eight in number, who opened firing inside the house before fleeing.

The bodies and injured were shifted to Peoples Medical College Hospital by the villagers. They regretted the late arrival of Jam Sahab Police.

The deceased children were buried in the Goth graveyard. A large number of people attended their funeral.
