Road accidents claim lives in Lahore, Mian Channu, Gujranwala

At least three people died and another three received injuries in collision between two cars in Lahore on Sunday evening. Separately, a person died and another was seriously wounded when a trailer hit a motorcycle in Mian Channu on Sunday evening.

According to eye witnesses, due to a speeding two private cars collided with each other at Barki Road near Defence Phase VII of provincial capital Lahore.

Three people identified as Farooq Khan 40, Usman 32, and 28-year-old Aftab died on the spot in the accident while three others sustained critical wounds. The bodies and injured were shifted to local hospital for medico-legal formalities.

In Mian Channu, a speeding trailer knocked down motorcycle carrying two people near toll plaza in Mian Channu.

One bike rider died on the spot while another was critically injured and rushed to hospital for treatment.

The police confiscated the trailer and after registering a case against the driver who fled the scene of accident started raids for his arrest.

Meanwhile, a man was crushed to death by a speeding vehicle on Sunday. According to rescue sources, a man was hit by a truck while crossing road in Ladhewala Warraich area of Gujranwala.

The truck driver escaped from the scene of the accident. The body was shifted to hospital where it was handed over to heirs after postmortem.

The police after registering a case against the fleeing truck driver have started raids for his arrest.
