Sindh Home Minister Suhail Anwar Siyal ordered on Sunday that the girls primary school in Ghotki, which was turned into a police station, be restored to its original shape, adding that no school in future should be converted into a police station.
Government Girls Primary School Hayat Pitafi was converted into a police station three years ago. Since then, no educational activities took place in the school as the girls of the area were deprived of their basic right of being educated.
One of the policemen said that they had no option but to convert the school into a police station as the government did not approve the construction of any police station in the area. Senior Superintendent Police (SSP), Ghotki, Masood Bangash said that action would be taken against the cops who illegally established police station in the school. Later, Suhail Anwar Sial ordered that the police station be closed at once and the school be restored to its original shape.
