An earthquake of moderate intensity jolted several parts of Chitral District and Malakand Division of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and surrounding areas on Sunday.
According to the geological wing of Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), an earthquake of five magnitude on the Richter scale was felt in Chitral, Malakand Division and surrounding area.
People of the areas rushed out of their homes in a state of panic. No human or property loss is reported so far.
The epicentre of the earthquake was stated to be located in Afghanistan-Tajikistan border, 85 kilometres deep inside the earth crust.
