Domestic violence is a problem in the society and is seldom seen as a crime by law enforcement agencies. It is only the most horrific cases which are ever reported and thus get media attention. An estimated 70% of women have suffered abuse at some point in their lives. As we have heard on the news, these occurrences are once every week or after 2 to 3 days.
It’s my humble request to the authorities to take an immediate stand to protect women from being violently attacked and beaten, sexually assaulted, doused with acid or set on fire for daring to take the decisions of their lives on their own.
