The Sindh High Court (SHC) has sought comments from the assistant commissioner Gulshan-e-Iqbal, deputy commissioner East and DIG traffic on a petition filed by Imtiaz Super Store owner against schedule of his store closure.
The SHC division bench, headed by Chief Justice Sajjad Ali, was hearing the plea filed by Imtiyaz Hussain submitting that he had established a super store in Karachi’s Gulshan-e-Iqbal after fulfilling all the legal formalities but authorities concerned bounded him to close the store from 3:30 PM to 9:30 PM.
The petitioner submitted that authorities concerned claimed that traffic situation becomes tormenting due to procurers’ parking, therefore he was directed to close his store during the rush hours.
Imtiyaz Hussain submitted in the petition that he would face financial loss if his store remains close in those hours which are highly used for shopping.
Citing assistant commissioner Gulshan-e-Iqbal, deputy commissioner East and DIG traffic and home secretary as the respondents, the petitioner requested the court to restrain the respondents from taking action against his store and allow him to open his store.
After the initial hearing, the court issued notices to the advocate general and respondents directing them to file their respective comments on 13th of June 2016.
