Crackdown against terrorists and criminal elements continued in Karachi as police apprehended eight accused persons during operations in different parts of the city.
According to reports, police carried out an operation in Gulshan-e-Iqbal 13-D area and arrested two terrorists. Police sources said that the arrested terrorists, Abdul Basid and Muhammad Nauman were member of al-Qaeda.
Police recovered anti-aircraft gun, five kg of ball bearings, hand grenades and detonators from their possession. Police further revealed that the arrested terrorists got training from Afghanistan and were involved in attacks on Pakistan security forces.
On the other hand, police conducted an operation in Model Colony area of Malir and arrested at least six accused.
