Rain likely to hit different parts of country

The Pakistan Metrological Department (PMD) has predicted a possibility of rainfall in various parts of the country on Friday.

In the next 24 hours, very hot and dry weather is expected in plain areas of the country. The temperature in Larkana, Sukkur, Jacobabad, Bahawalnagar, and Nawabshah will go above 45°C.

However, rain-dust-thunderstorm with strong gusty winds is expected at isolated places in Hazara, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Lahore, Faisalabad divisions, Islamabad and Kashmir while at few places in Malakand, Mardan, Peshawar, Kohat, Bannu, Dera Ismail Khan, Multan, Dera Ghazi khan, Bahawalpur, Sukkur, Larkana, Shaheed Benazirabad, Quetta, Zhob divisions, FATA and Gilgit-Baltistan during evening/night.

Likewise, weather outlook for the next 48 hours is predicted as rain-dust-thunderstorm with strong gusty winds at scattered places in Malakand, Hazara, Mardan, Peshawar, Kohat, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Lahore,Faisalabad divisions, Islamabad, FATA and Kashmir while at isolated places in Bannu, D.I Khan, Multan, D.G khan, Bahawalpur, Sukkur, Larkana, Quetta, Zhob divisions and Gilgit-Baltistan.

The Met office has warned that the heat intensity will continue to persist for one week.

Temperature of some major cities recorded on Friday morning:

Islamabad 27°C, Lahore, and Peshawar 28°C, Karachi 30°C, Quetta 25°C, Gilgit 16°C, Murree 19°C and Muzaffarabad 21°C.
