Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan has rejected a French government’s threat that can affect relations between the two countries if an accused detained in France is not provided a passport and other relevant documents for his deportation to Pakistan.
According to a spokesman for the interior ministry, the minister has taken notice of what he called ‘inappropriate’ attitude of the government of France on the issue of deportation of the accused Mohammad Mansha and said that his deportation could not be possible without prior authentication of his nationality.
Mansha has been living in France for several years and has been accused of being involved in immoral and criminal activities.
The ambassador contacted Chaudhry Nisar in Pakistan and informed him about the situation.
The spokesman told reporters that the minister said the French government’s attitude was “against diplomatic norms”.
He was quoted as saying that the government would take a decision according to the law and without considering any threat.
He said if the French home ministry wanted to deport Mansha, his documents and details about him should be sent to Pakistan so that action could be taken according to the law of the land.
Chaudhry Nisar warned that if any attempt was made to violate Pakistani law, Mansha would be sent back to France by the same flight which brought him to Pakistan and the airline in whose flight he travelled would be fined.
