The damages suit of Rs 10 million against Gerry’s GMD was filed by advocate Siraj Ahmed. In his suit, Siraj Ahmed stated that he had submitted his passport as well as some other original documents with Gerry’s for obtaining the visa of Netherlands. He said that he was invited by a legal practitioners’ body in Hague (Netherlands) to attend a seminar.
He said due to Gerry’s negligence and poor services he was refused the visa. He said after the refusal of the visa, his passport was returned back by Gerry’s, however, other original documents were not being returned to him despite a lapse of over three months.
He said he submitted applications for withdrawal of his original documents three months ago, however, Gerry’s did not bother to reply.
He said after getting no reply on applications for withdrawal of original documents, he served many legal notices to Gerry’s to return his original documents, but it did not respond, so he filed Rs 10 million damages suit against it.
Despite several notices by the court, Gerry’s GMD did not appear before the court, thus, the court issued his non-bailable arrest warrant a few days back. It is expected that he will be produced before the court by police today (Saturday).
