CM visits Ramzan bazaar to check prices, quality of items

Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif, after returning to the country from London on Friday, paid a surprise visit to Ramzan Bazaar Township without protocol, and checked the prices and quality of fruits, vegetables, flour, sugar, chicken and other items.

On the demand of consumers present at the Ramzan bazaars, the chief minister announced that the Ramzan bazaars will remain opened till 9:00 PM instead of 6:00 PM so the citizens can fully benefit from them. He appreciated the administration and concerned officers for making good arrangements in the bazaars.

The chief minister took notice of some complaints by the consumers and issued necessary instructions.

On the demand of citizens, Shehbaz Sharif directed that besides one kilogram packets, pulses and gram flour should also be supplied in half kilogram packets. The chief minister reached Ramzan bazaar without prior information and even Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) office-bearers did not know about his visit.

Shehbaz Sharif went to different stalls and checked the quality and prices of daily use items, fruits, vegetables, pulses, flour, sugar and chicken and talked to the citizens coming to the Ramzan bazaar for shopping. He said that surprise visits help in better assessment of situation and gaining knowledge about problems of the people. He said that he will continue to pay surprise visits to the Ramzan bazaars to make sure people are being provided relief in the real sense.

The chief minister said that quality of daily use items, fruits and vegetables in Ramzan Bazaar Township is satisfactory while prices are reasonable and the people visiting the bazaar have expressed satisfaction over the arrangements.

Shehbaz Sharif mingled with the people who had gathered around him, and shook hands and also talked to them. The people present on the occasion raised slogans of ‘Shehbaz Sharif Zindabad’ and congratulated him on recovery of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif. Consumers also expressed satisfaction over quality and prices of the daily use items in Ramzan Bazaars.

Talking to media, the chief minister said that he had returned to the country from London on Friday and came to see the arrangements for providing relief to the people. He said that he is happy that arrangements in Ramzan Bazaar are satisfactory while quality of essential items, fruits and vegetables is good and their prices are reasonable.

He said that with the blessings of Allah Almighty and the prayers of the nation, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is recovering and that he will soon return to the country. The people who had come to the Ramzan Bazaars appreciated the quality and prices of essential commodities and asked the chief minister to continue visiting the bazaars to ensure quality, upon which Shehbaz Sharif said that he would do so.

A large number of people termed the prices of food items as satisfactory and told the chief minister that cleanliness arrangements in the bazaar are good. Shehbaz Sharif also visited agriculture fair price shop in the Ramzan bazaars and appreciated the quality of fruits and vegetables.
