A local court in Islamabad issued a notice to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan on Thursday in a defamation case filed by Finance Minister Ishaq Dar’s son.

The hearing of the defamation case worth Rs 5 billion was conducted by Additional Session Judge Raja Khurram Ali Khan.

The petitioner adopted the stance that Khan accused him of owning illegal property in United Arab Emirates (UAE) in a press conference. The accusations have also been reported in the media, he added.

The petitioner demanded that either Khan should apologise over the false accusations or should be ready for legal proceedings.

The court while adjourning the hearing reissued notice to Khan for June 18.
