Heatwave to continue for next 24 hours

Hot and dry weather with severe heatwave conditions is likely to continue in areas of Punjab, Central and Southern Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, upper Sindh, Sibi and Makran divisions during the next 24 hours.

However, rain and dust-thunderstorm with strong gusty winds are expected at isolated places in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Lahore, Sargodha, Multan, Dera Ghazi Khan, Bahawalpur, Sukkur, Mirpurkhas, Hyderabad, Hazara divisions, FATA and Kashmir.

The temperature in Rawalpindi is rising slowly and can reach 41°C.

Weather in Lahore will remain hot and dry however light wind will continue to blow with the temperature going up to 44°C.

All the cities in Balochistan including Quetta are enveloped by intense heat with the highest temperature recorded in Nokandi.

Temperature of some major cities recorded on Thursday morning:

Islamabad 22 °C, Lahore 30°C, Karachi 29°C, Peshawar 27°C, Quetta 21°C, Murree 20, Muzaffarabad 19°C and Gilgit 16°C.
