Abid Sher Ali mocks Mazari in a series of ‘sexist’ tweets

A day after Water and Power Minister Khawaja Asif came under fire by the opposition for his sexist remark about Shireen Mazari, State Minister for Water and Power Abid Sher Ali on Thursday derided the senior Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader in a series of tweets.

“Shireen Mazari alias tractor trolley having a behavior problem that needs to be corrected!” the minister posted on his official Twitter account.

Repeatedly calling Mazari “tractor trolley” in his posts, Abid Sher Ali went on to tweet: “Shireen Mazari alias tractor trolley is a kind of a child that always wants attention for fame!”

“Sheerin Mazari I hope you understand that you are in parliament not in a school Where you can cry & teacher can wipe your tears grow up!!” the minister commented in another post.

Khawaja Asif earned opposition lawmakers’ ire for referring to Shireen Mazari as a “tractor trolley” and calling her voice ‘masculine’ after she interrupted his briefing in the National Assembly on electricity load shedding situation in the country during the holy month of Ramzan.

Khawaja Asif on Thursday sent an apology to National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, but Mazari refused to accept it, stating that the PML-N MNA’s vulgar remarks were personal and he should come to the floor of the House to apologise himself.
