The three-year performance of the Nawaz Sharif government is not up to the mark as the economy is still in a bad shape and the country is also facing problems on the foreign policy front.
This was said by Pakistan Today Editor Arif Nizami in his Channel 24 programme DNA on Monday night.
The agriculture sector of the country has also been hit badly despite the fact that Pakistan is an agrarian economy, he said while talking about the performance of the incumbent government which took reigns three years ago in June 2013.
“The indicators for governance are also worrisome as teachers, farmers and nurses have all been seen agitating on the roads in recent days,” he said. He was of the view that the government did not do anything substantial to mitigate the load shedding woes as eight hours of power outages are still being observed in the posh localities of Lahore.
Talking about the future of the government, Nizami said that 2017 will be an election year and Sharif will have to face serious problems when he returns from London. The future of the government will depend on what the civil-military relations look like, he added.
According to Nizami, there is a tie between Maryam Nawaz and Shahbaz Sharif to replace Nawaz in future but that Chaudhry Nisar doesn’t stand a chance.
“It is a welcome sight that the game is over for Nisar to replace Nawaz in the prime minister’s seat as such an egotistical person is not suitable to get the reigns of the country,” Nizami said. He further added that Nisar does not let a moment go by without criticising his opponents while his own performance as minister has been nothing to write home about.
The good for nothing Central Information Minister says repeatedly, PML(N) would be back after 2018 ! But who ? Ch Nisar, Maram or Thatta railway Minister !
