The tall claims of the federal and provincial governments to ensure uninterrupted power supply fell flat as citizens of Rawalpindi faced loadshedding during the Sehr and Iftar timings on the very first day of Ramzan.
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif had earlier directed to ensure uninterrupted power supply during Sehr and Iftar timings but various areas of Rawalpindi remained plunged into darkness creating problems for the people in this holy month.
The citizens criticised the federal and provincial governments for not fulfilling their pledges.
They demanded action against the concerned officials of Water and Power Development Authority to ensure power supply during the next days of Ramzan.
