Punjab Minister for Excise and Taxation, Mian Mujtaba Shuja ur Rehman, along with District Coordination Officer (DCO) Capt. (r) Muhammad Usman visited Ramzan Bazars in Islampura, Kareem Park and fruit market Badami Bagh to check the prices of commodities, on Tuesday.
The minister checked the auction of vegetables and fruits in the Badami Bagh market and also inspected the quality of the items. He issued instructions to the staff to ensure cleanliness in the market.
He met the people shopping in the Ramzan bazars and asked them about the prices and availability of commodities.
Later, talking to the consumers, they said that the City District Government Lahore (CDGL) set up 31 Ramzan Bazaars in different parts of the city where fruits, vegetables, chicken meat, sugar and flour bags are available for the citizens on cheaper rates.
They added that special stalls of national and multi-national companies have also been set up to provide commodities on reduced rates less than the open market.
