Announcing the verdict on the Kissan Package case, the Supreme Court on Monday directed a local fertiliser company to provide subsidy and ordered the concerned authorities to get imported fertiliser tested from the laboratory.
A two-member bench of the apex court, headed by Justice Ejaz Afzal Khan, announced the decision on the federal government’s plea against the Peshawar High Court’s Dec 8, 2015 order.
Agritech Limited, which manufactures fertiliser from local rock, had challenged the package in the PHC, terming it discriminatory.
The PHC in its verdict had declared that that there should not be any discrimination in the distribution of subsidy to fertiliser producers.
