The Islamabad High Court (IHC) was moved on Tuesday for registering a case against radical cleric Maulana Abdul Aziz, his wife Umme Hassan and the students of Jamia Hafsa madrassa for allegedly inviting Daesh to strike Pakistan.

Muhammad Jibran Nasir, a civil society representative has filed the petition taking the plea that students of Jamia Hafsa, through a video on a social website, had invited Daesh to Pakistan to take revenge of Lal Masjid operation 2007 and killing of al Qaeda chief Osama bin Laden. Aziz has also supported the students of Jamia Hafsa in a video address.

According to Nasir, this move is against the integrity of the country and police is not registering a case in this regard. The subordinate court also rejected the plea for registration of case, he added.

The petitioner prayed the court to declare the district court’s decision as illegal and order the police to register the case.

Maulana Abdul Aziz, Islamabad police and Islamabad administration have been made respondents in the petition.
