Eight Ramzan bazaars established in Islamabad

At least eight Ramzan sasta bazaars have been established in rural and urban areas of Islamabad to provide essential commodities to citizens at low rates during the month of Ramzan.

These sasta bazaars will start working from the first day of Ramzan. The district administration has set up four sasta bazaars in the rural areas of Tarlai, Bhara Khau, Pakistan Town and Rawat. Similarly, in the urban areas these bazaars will be set up at Sector, G-6, G-10, I-9 and H-9.

Meanwhile, the spokesman of district administration claimed that Islamabad Market Committee is fixing the rates of fruits and vegetables on a daily basis in the Sabzi Mandi, Islamabad. They further claimed that the rate list is being supplied to the shopkeepers for display at their shops and strict implementation would be ensured.

The Islamabad Market Committee, in cooperation with traders, is keeping the rate of profit of fruit and vegetables at minimum level during the holy month of Ramzan in order to provide relief to the citizens.

Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) administration has also activated price control committees headed by the magistrates to keep strict watch over the prices of food items and take on the spot action against the profiteers.

Daily price checking has been started by the magistrates and those overcharging will be dealt with strict action as per law.

The teams are also checking the quality of milk and meat coming from other cities and stern action would be taken against the adulterators.

The district administration has fixed the rates of food items in the markets during the holy month and it will be effective from the 1st of Ramzan. Milk rate is fixed at Rs 90, yogurt at Rs 105 per kg, Samosas, one dozen, at Rs 168, Pakora per kg at Rs 210, Jaleebi per kg at Rs 210, Daal Chana supreme at Rs 135 per kg, Daal Chana medium at Rs 130 per kg, Daal Mung (moti) at Rs 150 per kg, Daal Mung (bareek) at Rs 135 per kg, Daal Masoor at Rs 140 per kg, Daal Masoor (bareek) at Rs 150 per kg, Daal Mash at Rs 270 per kg, gram flour at Rs 150 per kg, rice Awal at Rs 110 per kg, rice super new Karnal at Rs 90 per kg, rice Kainaat at Rs 140 per kg, rice Tota at Rs 50 per kg and flour 20 kg bag at Rs 615.
