The Public Service Commission’s former Chairman, Ashraf Magsi and two subordinates have been charged in the case regarding irregularities in Balochistan Public Service Commission and illegal recruitments, reported Tuesday.
Former chairman Magsi, Deputy Directors Abdul Waheed and Niaz Kakar were presented before the court and the three pleaded not guilty to the accusations.
The alleged corrupt officials are accused of around 12 violations in the case. The hearing was adjourned until June 21 after Judge Abdul Majeed Nasir indicted the three accused. Magsi is accused of appointing two daughters and a close relative on BS-17 posts using forged degrees.
He is also alleged of appointing his son as section officer on fake academic credentials.
Magsi pocketed millions in bribe and appointed dozens of applicants on posts.
Earlier in November 2014, the then Balochistan Governor Muhammad Khan Achakzai had removed Magsi from the post of Chairman of the Balochistan Public Service Commission over charges of irregularities and corruption.
A formal letter of termination was issued to the chairman by the governor after Balochistan High Court Judge Justice Naeem Akhtar Afghan concluded the inquiry.
Magsi was arrested in May days after Finance Secretary Mushtaq Raisani was apprehended following the seizure of around Rs 630 million in cash and Rs 40 million worth of gold from his residence.
