The Punjab Teachers Union (PTU) Monday (today) have carried on their protest against the privatisation of government schools at Charing Cross, the Mall Road.
The teachers have staged a protest outside the Punjab Assembly against the possible privatisation of government a school enters the fourth day.
The teachers vowed that the demonstrations would not end until government withdraws stance over proposed privatisation of schools.
Teachers from schools situated in all over the province have maintained that the government is privatising different schools putting teachers’ jobs in jeopardy besides hiked tuition fees.
They have demanded the government to annul the proposal and cancel privatisation.
Protesting teachers further said that the demonstration would continue until a written statement is not forwarded by the government.
The protest caused a severe traffic jam in the area causing extreme distress to the citizens.
