Minister asks PTI chief Imran Khan to shun negative politics

Minister for Information, Broadcasting and National Heritage Pervaiz Rashid on Sunday said sufis and saints had given the message of love and tolerance which should be spread for unity and religious harmony.

He was addressing an Ulema Mushaikh Conference held here under the auspices of Ulema Mushaikh Wing of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N).

The minister said one got purity of heart and mind by following the teachings of Sufis and saints. Islam, he said, was a religion of peace and love and “all of us must play our due role to show the real face of Islam to the world.”

He said there was a need of an “ideological Zarb-e-Azb” in the country to promote the real spirit of Islam and eradicate extremism like the successful operation Zarb-e-Azb launched against terrorists.

Terrorist networks, the minister said, had been demolished through Zarb-e-Azb and now the extremism could be eliminated through spreading messages of peace given by Sufis and saints.

He said that flag of PML-N would be hoisted on the both sides of Kohala Bridge due to the prayers of Sufis. The Sufis had stood with Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, joined Pakistan Muslim League and lifted the flag of Pakistan. They had played a vital role in the movement for Pakistan, he added.

The minister asked the participants to keep the PML-N’s flag high following their forefathers and helped form its government not only in Muzaffarabad but in the entire Pakistan for ‘real development’.

He thanked the entire nation over prayers for the recovery of Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif. The prayers, he said, showed the people’s love and affiliation for their leader.

Pervaiz Rashid said the negative politics of PTI chief Imran Khan had been rejected by the nation, which showed that people like him were harmful for the country.

He said vacant chairs in PTI’s public meetings told about Imran’s future as the people had become dejected over his abusive style of politics instead of initiating development projects in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The minister advised Imran Khan to shun negative style of politics and play his role in the prosperity of the country by doing positive politics.

He said Imran Khan had already been agitating on roads for the last three years. He was again hurling threats in that regard. “However, we are not afraid of his threats because we have continued our journey for the prosperity of the country. Every possible effort will be made to uplift the living standards of the public,” he maintained.

The minister said, ”We highly value the love the people had shown for us through their heavy mandate instead of thinking about allegations hurled by Imran Khan. It is love of people who are praying for the recovery of Prime Minister and his doctors are very much satisfied about the improvement in his health,” he added.

He said the speedy recovery of the Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif was the result of prayers of millions of people. He thanked the Ulema and general public for their prayers in that regard.

He said the holy month of Ramzan was about to start and sought the blessings of Allah Almighty for all.

With the grace of the Almighty, such a government should be formed in the AJK which should spend every penny from the public exchequer on the welfare of people, better road infrastructure and development of the region, he prayed.
