Sindh Assembly Speaker Agha Siraj Khan Durrani presented a three-year performance report of the provincial assembly on Monday.
Speaker Durrani was accompanied by Deputy Speaker Syeda Shehla Raza and Opposition Leader Khawaja Izharul Hassan.
Durrani said, “The aim of the three-year performance report is to review the work and learn from our mistakes.”
He highlighted some of the achievements of the SA, adding that it is the only assembly in the country which has allowed live media coverage. The assembly will be made bombproof from all sides due to security concerns, he added.
The opposition leader said that they are truly satisfied with the performance of the speaker and deputy speaker of the assembly.
This report covers the three-year period from May 29, 2013 to May 28, 2016.
According to the report, the assembly received 5,348 questions out of which 1,847 were allowed while 1,645 were disallowed, 100 were withdrawn, 877 were under process and 879 were laid on the floor of the House. Moreover, the assembly received 488 call attention notices out of which 334 were tabled on the floor of the house while 154 were lapsed.
