Punjab Finance Minister Dr Ayesha Ghaus Pasha will be unveiling the annual budget of Punjab for the fiscal year of 2016-17 along with the supplementary budget statement on June 13.
According to sources, the total outlay for the provincial budget will amount to over Rs 1,650 billion.
Sources said Rs 13.49 billion would be allocated for Higher Education while Rs 0.9 billion will be allocated for Special Education.
For School Education, Rs 22.62 billion have been set aside as Rs 9 billion have been set aside for the repair of damaged school buildings.
Sources also revealed that more than Rs 550 billion have been allocated for development while Rs 14.85 billion have been allocated for Water Supply and Sanitation.
A proposed Rs 0.61 billion for Social Welfare has also been included in the budget.
For Road Development, Rs 79.81 billion have been set aside whereas for Women Development, Rs 0.57 billion have been allocated.
For Energy projects, Rs 18.4 billion have been allotted whereas, for projects that are being run on foreign investment, Rs 30 billion have been allocated.
Rs 6 billion each has been set aside for the laptop scheme and for the provision of facilities at schools. For industries, Rs 3.83 billion have been allocated.
