After four days of his successful open heart surgery, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has been shifted to his private room from the intensive care unit (ICU) at the Harley Street Clinic in London.

“By the Grace of the Almighty, the Prime Minister has been shifted to his room today. He is Masha’Allah recovering speedily,” tweeted Maryam Nawaz, the PM’s daughter and heir apparent on Saturday.

On May 31, the premier underwent open heart surgery in the British capital – his second cardiac procedure in five years.

PM Nawaz is expected to make his return to the country after a few weeks following making a full recovery from the procedure.

He had travelled to London on May 22 for a medical check-up but prolonged his visit after doctors advised to carry out the surgery following examinations.

During the premier’s absence, the federal government unveiled Rs800 billion development budget, an amount Rs 100 billion higher than last year.
