Swat and its adjoining areas were jolted on Saturday evening as a result of an earthquake having a magnitude of 4.5 on the Richter scale.
The centre of the quake is stated to be in the Koh-e-Hindukush mountain range, having a depth of 90 km.
The earthquake caused desperation among the locals. A large number of people came out of their homes reciting prayers. There were no reports of loss of any life or property.
