The sub-committee of Public Accounts Committee (PAC) has directed to take action against the Capital Development Authority (CDA) board chairman, member and member planning for awarding the contract of visa shuttle service against the rules and regulations.
PAC’s sub-committee met on Friday with Convener Shafqat Mahmood in the chair.
The sub-committee directed the CDA to get the amount recovered from the contractor. The sub-committee added that steps should be taken to end the stay order taken by the contractor. The CDA had awarded the contract in 2008 for launching the visa shuttle service.
CDA Legal Wing Director told the committee that the contractor got a stay order again from the high court in June after its expiry in April. Upon this Shafqat Mahmood asked, “Why the CDA failed to vacate the land during the gap of two months?” Legal Wing Director responding to the question said that the CDA chairman was informed in this regard, but he requested for a dialogue with the contractor, and the authority could not take any step due to chairman’s stance.

Shafqat Mahmood said the chairman of the authority is responsible for negligence.
The committee expressed displeasure over the disappearance of record of contract and asked the secretary CADD to conduct an inquiry into the matter.
There is probably a lot needed to be done in this regard and favorably there would be more good changes which are indeed considered to be pretty important to brought around.
