Police prepare plan to ensure fool proof security during Ramzan

The police department and city traffic police have drawn up plans to ensure fool-proof security during the holy month of Ramzan, particularly during Taraweeh prayers and at the time of fasting.

According to details, 4,500 police personnel will be posted outside mosques in different shifts at Fajr time and during Taraweeh prayers. The policemen will patrol the Ramzan Sasta bazaars as well.

The police security units will also comprise of women police personnel to deal with female citizens. On the other hand, the traffic wardens have been told to maintain uninterrupted traffic on roads, particularly before the iftar time when there is a huge rush on major roads.

City Police Officer (CPO) Israr Abbasi has given directives for the posting of police personnel outside the mosques and imambargahs during Ramzan in order to cope with any unseen situation. Furthermore, the services of volunteers have also been acquired in order to enhance the security arrangements, whereas the imams of mosques are directed to deploy volunteers as a security measure.

A special control room has been set up to monitor the implementation of the security plan. CPO Abbasi said that he will personally monitor the security arrangements at the mosques, imambargahs and Ramzan bazaars.
